USER GUIDE

Introduction

Russian 4K is an educational tool allowing you to test yourself against a database of over 4,000 Russian translations, including nouns, adjectives and verbs.

Russian 4K allows you to select your test criteria across a range of 12 subjects, including the 3,000 most common Russian words.

Russian 4K also lets you select the number of questions you wish to be tested on and the direction of translation, i.e., English to Russian or vice-versa.

HOME SCREEN

The Home screen has 3 sections:

No. of Questions

You can choose between 3 options, 10, 20 or 30 questions to be tested on.

Subjects

Here there are 12 options, these represent the type of vocabulary that you will be tested on. The subjects available are: Animals, Food, Top3000(the 3,000 most common Russian words), Clothing, 500 Verbs, Body, Family, House, Jobs, Numbers, Personality and Time.

Direction of Translation

Here you are presented with 2 options:

English to Russian

Russian to English.

If you select English to Russian, then you will be presented with an English word and given 6 Russian words from which to select the correct translation. It will, of course, be the opposite way round if you select Russian to English.

Note, each time you return to the Home screen the following choices are pre-selected: 10 questions, Animals and English to Russian.

Once you are happy with your selections, you can press the START button to begin the quiz.

QUIZ SCREEN

At the very top of the quiz/test screen will be the word you are being tested on. This will be either an English or Russian word depending on the direction of translation chosen in the home screen.

Below the image, indicating your chosen subject, will be 6 words, one of which will be the correct translation of the word at the top of the screen. Press whichever word you believe to be the correct answer.

As soon as you have made your selection, you will receive feedback:

If you are correct, then the chosen answer will turn green, the image will change to a large tick and the word you were tested on changes to “Correct”.

If you are wrong, the chosen answer will turn red, the image will change to a large X and the correct answer will appear at the top of the screen.

When you are ready to move to the next question, press the NEXT button.

Please note, the next button will disabled until you have attempted the current question.

Once you have completed the number of questions selected on the home screen, then you will automatically be moved to the Score screen.

SCORE SCREEN

The score screen gives you feedback on your quiz results.

You will see a score out of the chosen number of questions and a few words of motivation.

Finally, you will have 2 choices as to how to proceed:

Press the Home button and you will be taken back to the home screen to remake your selections.

Press the Retry button and you will be taken back to the quiz screen to re-attempt the test based upon your original selections.

INFO SCREEN

The Info screen can be accessed from the Home screen by pressing the small Info button in the top left of the screen. This will present a table listing the following:
