Overview
Drawing Grid Guide helps artists accurately copy photographs by placing an adjustable grid over any image. Simply import a photo, customise the grid, and use it as a drawing reference.
Importing a Photo
- Tap Import Photo.
- Choose an image from your photo library.
- The image will appear with the drawing grid overlaid.
Positioning the Image
Use familiar touch gestures to position your reference image.
- Pinch to zoom in or out.
- Drag to move the image.
- The grid remains aligned with the image as you move or zoom.
Adjusting the Grid
The following controls allow you to customise the grid:
Rows
Adjust the number of horizontal divisions.
Columns
Adjust the number of vertical divisions.
Line Thickness
Increase or decrease the thickness of the grid lines.
Opacity
Control how visible the grid appears over your image.
Grid Colour
Choose the grid colour that provides the best contrast for your reference image.
Numbering
Enable row and column numbering to make it easier to reference specific areas of your drawing.
Hide Controls
Tap Hide Controls to remove the settings panel and maximise the available viewing area.
Tap Show Controls at any time to return to the editing controls.
Pro Upgrade
Drawing Grid Guide Pro unlocks additional customisation features, including:
- Unlimited grid sizes
- Multiple grid colours
- Adjustable line thickness
- Adjustable opacity
- Row and column numbering
The free version includes a standard 6 × 6 black grid.
Restoring Purchases
If you have previously purchased the Pro upgrade:
- Open the Pro upgrade screen.
- Tap Restore Purchases.
No additional payment is required.
Tips
- Choose a grid size that matches the level of detail in your drawing.
- Zoom in when working on fine details.
- Hide the controls to maximise the reference image.
- Numbered grids are particularly useful when transferring complex subjects accurately.
